Shark Hut, site specific installation, collaboration with Mary Babcock. Baer Art Center, Hosfós, Iceland

While the practice of making Hákarl no longer occupies this location, the shark hut remains. For one week Mary and I frequented the space and absorbed the contours of the landscape. We wrapped rocks, braided grass and suspended both from the rafters. The installation was impacted daily by the elements and routinely restored, mirroring and echoing the surroundings. The images cannot capture the embodied experience–the sound of rocks falling and grass buckling in the wind.
